In a dynamic microphone, sound waves strike a thin metallic diaphragm attached to a coil. The diaphragm vibrates the coil to the sound wave. A magnet inside the coil produces a magnetic field. It is the coil motion in the magnetic field that produces the electrical signal corresponding to the picked tone. The microphone is diaphragm motion generates a current. Present sum is calculated by motion velocity. Therefore, dynamic microphones are regarded as velocity-sensitive.
